April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July. She began lessons on piano and guitar at age seven. The passion for writing songs was ignited. When she was in seventh grade she began to take guitar and piano lessons. The lessons sparked her passion in writing songs. At 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musical skills. Then, in the following months, April began traveling with her father and to write songs at home in NY and LA. April began including other topics in Take My Hand for the people in her life who are struggling with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and works for popular Clean Beauty company Ilia. Lockhart was never born with a left-hand, which is what makes her who she is. But that's far from the full story. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap in her posts on Instagram, however she does not make it the main focus of the post. What message is it trying to convey? The message is That we all carry numerous identities. We're much way more diverse than we think we are. Lockhart is interviewed via video in Nashville. "I do not want it to define my life. I'm not looking to be only identified as a specialist in disability. And it doesn't affect my daily life. I conduct everything normally and I've found my own method of adjusting things. However, it's a component of me and I feel it's important to talk about. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey will be one that lasts an entire lifetime. She is an inspiration for this purpose. She admits that she's been through phases of her body at times being unsure about wearing particular types of clothes which showed off her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she likes. And she posts her photos on social networks. The journey itself is the key thing I'm not certain that it will be an end of self-love. It's a journey, I don't think you ever get there. I think that having people around you who really are aware of you and know your heart is really important since they'll be those that remind you of what are you concerned about?
